Mauritius is a country of the Indian Ocean, comprising the eastern Mascarene Islands (Mauritius and Rodrigues) and two archipelagos of islets further north, the islands and Cargados Carajos Agalega. Mauritius still dispute with Madagascar and France the island of Tromelin. Its closest neighbors are the French department of Reunion, to the west, and the Seychelles to the north. Its capital is Port Louis. Form along with Libya and the Seychelles, the group of African countries with Human Development Index is considered high.
